Brushes don't always work in Photoshop 22.3 on Windows 10

Whem I go to paint on a Mask in PS, nothing happens, I can't paint on it. I have even tried painting on a new layer in some obnoxious color, but nothing happens. I've checked to make sure Cap Locks is not on (which it isn't). If I minimze PS, then maximize it again, sometimes I can paint.

This has been happening since the latest update to PS. Is there anything I can do? I don't want to reset PS, but will if I have to. Thanks. Susan N

Hi Susan,

We're sorry about the trouble with Photoshop while trying to paint. Would you mind sharing the version (build version) of Windows you're working on? Are you using a drawing tablet like Wacom? If yes, please check out the steps to set up the tablet using the steps suggested here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/tablet-support-faq-photoshop.html

You can try to reset the preferences of Photoshop using the steps mentioned here: https://adobe.ly/2Qzc0K3

Please backup your settings prior to resetting the preferences. You can check: https://adobe.ly/2vNz6FG

Let us know how it goes!

Regards,

Nikunj

Thanks for the reply, I went through the Wacom steps, and had my tablet set up the same way you mention. I did do a rest for Preferences and so far (only had PS open a while) the brushes seem to be working. I'll keep track of it, and if it happens again, will let you know.

I've attached a photo of my Windows System for you. Again thanks for the quick reply
