Bump map creation bug

I came across a weird bug: When I try to create a bump map and play with the contrast details the preview window would neither update nor let me update the other preferences – which it did before.

As soon as I close and open the dialog window again, the other preferences would work again until I play with the contrast details. 

What I already tried: Rebooting, reset the settings – both had no effect.

Did anyone already come across that?

It looks like the same bug that is in the normal map filter and is reported below. You may want to add to it and try the posted workaround
