Can we create a brush in Photoshop with hardness control just like the default soft brush?

I am curious to know if we can create brushes in photoshop in which we can alter their hardness along with the diametre and opacity. Although these three properties belong exclusively to Photoshop's Default Soft and Hard Brush.

It would be awesome to know if we can create our own brushes with all these three properties.

Diameter and Opacity can be changed for sampled brushes.

Hardness cannot be applied to sampled brushes, a possible work-around with considerable limitations might be painting on the Layer Mask of a Solid Color Layer with Feathering set in the Properties Panel.

Maybe you should post screenshots or sketches to clarify what you mean.
