EDIT : "original rwa files" Meant are Sony arw files. Hope this is better understood.

I don't know if you can directly use XMP, but if you have an old arw file, change the XMP to that file's name, open it in Camera Raw and save the settings as a preset. Then you can open the dng and apply the preset to it.
