Cannot open .psd files from iCloud. Save As creates duplicate file no matter what

Recently I've been unable to open iCloud-stored .psd files from Photoshop.  All other file types are available to open (pdf, jpeg, png, etc.), but .psd files are ghosted out.  My workaround is to open Finder window and right click "Open With > Photoshop." Any thoughts? I've always stored in iCloud and never had this problem until the last month.  On a related note, when I hit Ctrl+S to save a .psd file it often pulls up the Save window as though I'm saving a new file instead of saving edits to an existing file. This prompts me to do a Save As instead of Save, and then asks if I want to "replace the file." I say yes, but it creates a copy instead and names it "file name 2", "3", etc. Maybe this is a Mac problem and not and Adobe problem? Thanks for any help
