Cannot print from Photoshop CS5 on Mac High Sierra

Everytime I go to print on Photoshop CS5 , it instantly crashes.

It's not a printer issue because I can save the item as a PNG and print it from Preview with no issues.

I've uninstalled (removed all preferences) and reinstalled, same issue. I've cleared the Print Preferences at the app's start up, same issue.

After some research I saw that this was a common issue with Photoshop CS5 version 12.0 which is the version that is installed. I went to Help > Updates and attempted to update Photoshop CS5 to version 12.0.4 , but it fails the update saying Error updating, try again later. I know High Sierra has a problem with Gatekeeping, and I saw on some other forum posts to make sure that the OS allows for downloads / updates from "Anywhere" , which I did.

Tried to update it again, and same issue. I'm really at a loss because Adobe no longer has the Application Manager available for download or any direct links to the update file for Photoshop CS5 12.0.4 . I tried downloading Creative Cloud to update CS5 but since it's not a cloud version of Photoshop, it does not detect that it is out of date.

Any suggestions would be amazing, over 20 hours have gone into trying to get Photoshop to print, much thanks for any suggestions.

Here is an updated Adobe Application Manager:

http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/creativesuite/cc/mac/ApplicationManager10.0_all.dmg

if after installing that, Help>Updates from within photoshop cs5 still doesn't work, here is the 12.0.4 installer file:

http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/photoshop/mac/cs5/AdobePhotoshop12-4-mul-AdobeUpdate.dmg

You may need to follow the directions here under Creative Suite 5.5, 5, and 4 to get the above to install:

As the software is over 10 years old it may not be compatible with recent versions of the OS.

It might be worth considering upgrading to the Photography Plan (it includes the latest version of Photoshop and Lightroom and upgrades as they become available) at around $10 a month.

You can download a free trial version to try it.

Hi Derek,
Thanks for the suggestion, may give that a go,
Just to confirm, do you know whether or not there is any way to access old update files via direct download?
I saw on a few other forum posts that Adobe used to offer it roughly 4-5 years ago, but it may have been discontinued.
Thanks again,
Phil

Sorry Phil, I don't know if old versions are available , but if you try the latest version I think you'll love it. For example for doing cut-outs (of figures for example) try: Select > Subject it's amazing!

Jeff,
You are a godsend, the second link worked,
I had to drag the install file from the Contents folder into the terminal but it successfully updated (this is a High Sierra work around)
Thank you so much!!
