When will Photoshop and Lightroom be able to read the files from the new Canon R5? Right now, I can't do anything with them unless I convert them to DNG files. Thank you

We here are user like you we do not work for Adobe. Adobe does not make public what their plains are. So no one knows what may be fixed or when. Lately Adobe has been updating Photoshop basically monthly. We do not know what is fix, added, updated or broken till after Adobe releases the update.

If you prefer processing RAW images with ACR instead of the camera maker’s proprietary software you might want to petition them to allow shooting DNG so that Adobe does not have to play catch-up with each new camera model’s RAW format.

Hi there,
We are happy to announce the release of Lightroom Classic 9.4 & Lightroom Desktop 3.4 which integrates Camera Raw 12.4 and now supports the Canon EOS R5 raw files.
Here's a list to the other newly added camera support in the August release: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
To update Lightroom Classic and Lightroom Desktop to the latest version, click "Update" in the Creative Cloud desktop app next to the app. See: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/update-app.html
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Akash
