CC 2019: “Could not complete request because of a program error”

Hello, I just updated to MacOS Mojave 10.14 and to Photoshop CC 2019. No problems on the first day of use. On my second day of use, I am seeing the error: “Could not complete request because of a program error.” I get the message when I try to resize an image and do other basic edits. What should I do? In my online searches I have not seen a clear cut answer. Help?

You should try to pinpoint exactly what setting or procedures or steps cause the error message to be triggered. What you wrote is too board to be useful. If any resize or basic edit caused errors I do not think that version of Photoshop would be released out of Adobe doors. The first thing to try is resetting all tools and you Photoshop preferences to see if that clears up your problems. You stated CC 2019 worked first daty.....

I've got a very similar problem here, but I'm a PC user (Windows 10) instead.

I just upgraded my Creative Cloud Suite a few days ago and then most of JPG files I recieve to work with, suddenly, don't open. That's an old issue, but it ocurred rarely and I used to avoid it opening the files using other softwares (such as Corel Photopaint) and saving over. Now, since the upgrade, it happens all the time.

I looked for new upgrades, but until now there´s none. I tried the solution below, but it doesn't help anyway:

Other threads suggest to use Camera RAW as intermediate. It works, but still, it's a palliative solution. It can't became a rule.

Hope you guys can provide a more definitive resolution.

After each of the two latest updates: "could not complete your request because of a program error" every time I try to open some jpegs that open fine with other software. Incredible! Please fix this.

Quit Photoshop and delete the Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 Prefs.psp file from this location

C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2019\Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 Settings

You may need to enable this option in file explorer

I have deleted the Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 Prefs.psp file, I just launched the app and I still get the same error simply trying to open a jpeg.

Try enabling this option in Camera Raw preferences

In Photoshop go to Edit > Preferences > Camera Raw

Photoshop will open the image in Camera Raw first then just click on Open Image

This opened the file, and all other jpeg files in Camera Raw. Is this a temporary workaround until the next bug fix?

Well it's a workaround, can't say if this will be fixed in the next update, I don't have the issue on either my work PC or home PC both with Window 10 1809 and CC2019

Actually, in our case, the error message comes at startup, while or after the preferences are loaded.

macOS 10.13.3 (or 6, not quite sure, we ran an update, but it does not show in the About this Mac window), Photoshop CC 2019, newest revision.

Complete reinstall, with and without deleting the preferences did not solve the problem. Could it be that uninstall with deleting user settings still does not delete everything? Could it be that, because it is a legacy installation, the place of some profiles in the /Library may cause issues?

Any advice highly appreciated.
