Clipping mask is not working? I want to fill this graphic with the imagine behind..

Hi beginner here -  i would like to fill the kiss shape with the image behind i have googled and watched tutorials and clipping mask seems to be the answer however, when i try this an error comes up saying 'Can't make clipping mask?'

Please could somebody help!

Hi

Your Layers panel isn't showing, but the most likely reason is that you need to switch the order of the layers first. Make sure the lips are on the upper layer and confirm you have the upper layer selected. Details here:
