Hi! When I set the cloning tool on the Luminosity method it just acts as when it's set to Normal, i.e. it just clones the initial area. The same can be said if I set it to Darker or Lighter.
I am working on a single layer and the Tone, Color and Saturation methods are working fine.
This has been the case for all the versions of Photoshop I used up to now (the latest).
P.S. I hope I have the names of the tools right since I'm translating from Italian!

You are right! I see only now that the underlying image is somewhat preserved. I guess I misinterpreted the funcionality of this tool.
Anyway, I was trying to remove a green flare. I managed to remove the green, clone tone and color.
Now I have to find a way to remove the halos that are left over.
