I cant have any color other than black on my image from paintbrush/bucket or any other thing. I've looked around for help and can tell you with certainty these are not the problems: Not in grayscale, in RGB. Proof colors/proof setup, all that is unchecked. Color preferences were changed to none. There's a warning thing (triangle with !) that appears sometimes after selecting a color, but upon doubleclicking it, it disapears and it still wont be anything but black.

Difficult to say without seeing your workspace, but:
Is this one particular document or all documents?
Is the layer set to Multiply or other than Normal?
Is the brush mode in other than Normal in the Options Bar?
Is there a mask involved?
Are there any layer effects on that layer (try a new layer).
Try resetting the Brush tool
If you are still stuck, can you post a screen shot of your workspace? Post it at full res so we can see what is going on, and to the thread rather than as an attachment? Click on the image icon and paste from the clipboard

Are you targeting a layer mask instead of the layer content by any chance?

I don't think so, I can still edit layers, and filling in works fine just can't change the color. Thank you for your reply 🙂
