Contact sheet photoshop

When trying to create a contact sheet on photoshop I click on my pictures folder and it says "no items match your search." But when I go to photoshop to create a plain old image, all of my pictures are there. Why are they not showing up when trying to make a contact sheet?

They're jpeg. I suck at photoshop. I don't know why the image is sideways.
