Hello all,

I am having an issue for a while where my Design Department got an error message when saving .psd files.

"Could not save name.psd vecause write access was not granted"

We setup a Synology NAS drive, they have admin right to the folder but we still get that error message.

Currently we are using the following:

Mac Pro Late 2013

MacOS Mojave

Photoshop CC 2019 v20.0.4

Synology NAS DS3018xs

Any ideas?

Regards,

Josue Torres.Photoshop.JPG

That's a network problem. I had that also in the past, when my network was to slow. The work around is: save locally, move to the network.

Hi Abambo,

Thanks for your reply. We did set up a direct connection between a NAS and our five Mac Pro (no SW o middle equipment) This NAS supports 8 network card.

It should handle at least 1 Gb/sec. We haven't found any issues with the network or errors when saving using Premiere or other CC applications.

Thanks,

Josue.

I understand your argumentation, but network drives are the reality of life... And I need to say that I had never loss of data with network drives. So it‘s quite reliable. However, I had those error messages with very big files, pointing out some timing problems.

We are storing all our Photoshop files on Network drives since 20+ years.
