Restarted and launched photoshop, checked for updates through CC App and Photoshop CC, but says it does not have an update.

Would like to try and solve as I would like to get usingthe generator part in the update.

Any ideas on how to solve this?

@cpeters,

Please check your private messages, I have provided the details of files to be removed which suppress updates.

Do ask your admin to either not suppress updates or run update package so that you have the latest Updates on your system.

Hi Ashutosh, I am having the same update problem. I did not realise that the updates are suppressed in the default settings with Creative Cloud packager.

I am fixing this in future deployments by re-packaging with updates on but in the meantime could you please let me know which files to delete on the few machines I have rolled out to with the updates suppressed?

Kind regards

Alessandro

Ashutosh, you ought to post the files to be removed publicly, so that every person who has this problem doesn't have to ask you individually.

I am having the same problem with updates through CC on OSX, even deleting Photoshop shows that it is still up to date. Reinstalling Photoshop and CC, along with running CC Cleaner also has no effect. Can you please post the information on how to fix this annoyance? Thanks.

For anyone else who stumbles on this thread, here's the fix for enterprise users only:

Ensure following file is not present on your system:

Mac OS

<Startup Disk>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdaterInventory/1.0/AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat

Windows XP and Higher

C:\Program files\common files\adobe\AAMUpdaterInventory\1.0\AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat

Windows XP and higher (64-bit)

C:\Program files(x86)\common files\adobe\AAMUpdaterInventory\1.0\AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat

Secondly, verify no file exists in this folder:

Mac OS

<Startup Disk>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdater/1.0/

Windows 7 and higher

C:\Program Data/Adobe/AAMUpdater/1.0/

also uninstalled CS6 as well as CC photoshop and also creative cloud and thought a fresh install would do the trick. downloaded and installed CC and it tries to update an app not there. so failed again. I am paying a subscription and having to use an old copy of CS2. not happy. Windows 7, 64-bit, home premium. HP laptop,G60-635DX Notebook. Probably will have to buy a new laptop. Wll continue to try this, then probably have to contact suppport. Can anyone send me a private message like the other guys got? the link shown in one of the first posted answers goes nowhere. you cannot even download a trial CC. This is crap.

Ashutosh, I believe that this problem for me stems from when I first signed

for PS when it was CS6 first came out and i was given permission to have it

on 2 laptops, both had issues and one or other was set to have problems.

When PS CC came out, I believe subscription service probably didn't pick

this up. The Compaq was my main laptop and that is the one I just ordered a

keyboard for and was the original PS loaded machine This HP had the second

copy and CC is seeing it as a rogue copy. I got my new Gateway yesterday

and loaded PS which told me I had updated copy on another machine and the

only way it was giving me another copy was to disable the copy on other

machines and I clicked yes, and the install completed and updated. You may

wish to pass this on and thank you for your help. I loaded the HP with CS2

for backup.

Best, Kathy

at work we have a system that can´t be updated with ACR.. and guess what, the 8.2 RC is installed.

all systems update fine only that one where we have tested ACR 8.2 RC on says the update is not made for our system.

is there a way to remove 8.2 RC?

why have adobe updates be so complicated and error prone?

you can´t just download them to install them offline and half the time even the installation makes problems.

and you need to have an extra update tool installed "application manager"... that needs his own updates to work. idiocy^3...

why do other companys manage to make updates that just ... well.... update the application?

@hamada2013

Please provide us with snapshot of the error and the following files.

You can find them at:

ACR  Installer logs

For Mac:

Library\Logs\Adobe\Installer

For Win:

Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers

AAM logs

For Mac:

/Volumes/%Volume Name%/Users/%Username%/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdater/1.0

For Win:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Adobe\AAMUpdater

You can zip all the files together and send us through mail (asnigam@adobe.com). This would help us in finding the root cause.

Appreciate your help. Apologize for the inconvenience.

Ashutosh

well waiting for the adobe support staff to fix something ... then we would never get to work.

we know these updates issue very well, we had enough of them in the past.

so our IT team did a complete reinstallation. did not solve anything.

manual registry cleaning + adobe cleaner tool did not help.

so we reverted to an earlier system backup (tipp from another photoshop forum).

voila... suddenly the update worked.
