OK - been playing around (learning 🙂 ) with ethe Colorize function of PS Elements 2020 - a new thing for me and have had some very nice results.

However, there have been some pics that resist all efforts to give anything like a good rendition of colour after I've hit the button. Now, that has occurred in some b/w pics I have the originals for (both as negatives and prints I've scanned in) as well as pics copied from (for example) social media.

The latter may of course be down to the fact that the resolution will have been squashed by (eg) Facespace as it does, but on the surface I've colorized some that have been pretty good, and others that have been pants.

So - the question is this - is there something intrinsic I may be doing wrong before starting the colorize process, or is it likely to be just the quality of the prints I'm trying?
