Difficulties with clone stamp with PS 2020

Last night I spent a couple of hours on a chat with Adobe about my issues with the Clone Stamp.  This was the second time.  I've been with Adobe CC for many years but I'm not a professional.  I just like to fix up my photos, including many vintage shots, that have faded and become spotty over many years. Some are 80 years old.  But three times now as I try to upgrade all the dots on my pictures, the photo moves around. Last night it would not stop thus after a frustrating hour I logged on.  Another frustrating hour and a half and the CC specialist took over my program and with another half-hour of her own adjustments, made me log out and log back in.  Luckily it worked.  Because she was not available to hear if it was successful or not. I was able to use the clone stamp again and finish one of the projects.  Today, I no sooner logged in and started another one, when the clone stamp again tuned out.  Nothing.  I could not fix one picture with it. I went on and did other things but I need the Clone Stamp to complete the projects.

Tonight they're very busy and cannot help me.  I'm disappointed to say the least.  Before the last update, I had no problems with the Clone Stamp. Now every time I use it I have to go into the chat for help and my time is being wasted just waiting because I don't understand what's wrong and I'm not learning anything to be able to help myself. I haven't finished a single photo today when my whole day was scheduled to work on this project.

I'm not a professional and don't expect to become one, I have reached my dotage and learning is a challenge.  But lately I can't do the things I know already. That leaves me in a bit of a lurch.

Does anyone have a suggestion for me?
