Error message when trying to open photoshop 'Could not initialize Photoshop because an unexpected..

'Could not initialize Photoshop because an unexpected end-of-file was encountered' ... what does this mean? 

 

I couldn't even take a screenshot to show as Photoshop is the only thing I use.

 

How do I fix this or is this the final thing to make me go over to Affinity.

I had to install an older version of Photoshop to reset the preferences but it seems to have done the job, thanks so much for replying!
