I am currently having trouble exporting a .PNG file from Illustrator with a transparent background. I am trying to export the file for my client to use as a watermark on his photos but when I export from AI to PS as a .PNG the PNG appears with a solid background. Once the png is in PS, it prompts me to turn it into a normal layer which causes the image to disappear into a transparent layer. It seems that only the SVG export is working. Help Please.

Does it work to save the .png to your computer and then open it in Photoshop?

It saves the PNG to my computer but without a transparent BG. Made sure my artboards didnt have a BG on them. For some Odd reason, they are opening in PS with flattened onto white BGS

I can't replicate this problem.
You could try resetting the preferences file and export again. In Preferences > General, there is a button to reset preferences on quit.
If that doesn't work you may need to reinstall Photoshop using the Adobe CC Cleaner Tool.
