Click on the icon in the upper right corner of the Creative Cloud app which will open up a menu. Choose "Preferences" and go to the "Apps" tab where you should see an "Auto-update" option.

The current version of creative cloud does not have this option. How do I stop the update since my CPU will not support this version?

Not sure why you're not seeing the option but try signing out of the Creative Cloud app and signing back in again
