I recently purchased a new computer and I need to transfer my photoshop to it from my old computer.  Is there a way to do this or do I need to purchase a new one?

Correct answer by John Waller | Adobe Community Professional

What if the old computer is no longer accessible and the program was terminated on it already.

Contact Adobe Customer Care, explain the situation and get your activation count reset.

Which version? Which operating system? Do you have the installation disk or do you need to download it?

You will need your serial number.

You're allowed to activate the software on up to two computers simultaneously.

If you really want to move it then:

On the old computer, launch Photoshop then  click Help > Deactivate. You can leave it installed (and reactivate it later) or just uninstall it as usual.

On the new computer, install as usual.

Hello, Monica. Youdohave two activations, so should be good to go. You might want to contact customer service to deactivate your old machine.

There is a nice article about the transfer of  Adobe software: http://prodesigntools.com/move-adobe-cs5-between-computers-or-windows-to-mac.html#more-8188

You can do it using this tutorial:

How to copy Photoshop to new computer
It moves Photoshop itself, all the files, presets, brushes etc.

They also have one for Creative Suite in general, worked to move CS5 for me:

Hope this helps!

first place to check is your online Adobe account. You will have one if you ever registered the program, or if you purchased it directly from Adobe… Just log in with your Adobe ID and all your serial numbers will be listed there.  If you don’t see it, then try registering your product now and see if it appears there. As a last resort, you may be able to retrieve it from the computer itself using a free utility like Belarc Advisor (Windows) or Product Key Finder (Mac) – which will recover and tell you the activation keys for the programs on your system.

I came to this forum and there's some good answers. For me, my circumstance is once my computer crapped itself I started using one I borrowed from a friend. After borrowing it from the friend, I activated my account on an iMac of mine as well as the borrowed laptop. Now I've bought my own laptop and am transferring between the two laptops.

So you log in to your account online. You go to the tab that says "Plans & Products", then click the link that says "Manage Plans." From there go to your "Activated Devices" heading and it will show under it whatever computers it's activated on. Deactivate from the computer you no longer need and then you just download the software onto the new computer and sign in and activate it like you did before.

This works both on iMac and Windows for me.

Computers used: iMac 2011 27", Dell Windows 7 Netbook and HP 2016 Windows 10 laptop.

I don't see anything at all under Plans.  I DO have three products, and there are two I'd like to transfer.  Is there another way to get at the page where I can my activated devices?

P.S. I'm trying to move the software from a PC to a Mac. When I try to do the install on the Mac, the install software doesn't recognize the serial number from my PC installation.

pl, you can activate on two machines with different OS, if you are using Creative Cloud, that does not require a serial number. It is not the case for Creative Suite versions.

Hi I have the same problem. My original computer broke years ago and managed to use another computer in the mean time to finish my courses. I later managed to buy my own computer and transfered the program with no issues. The problem is I was able to access my adobe creative suite and transfer because I was still in college and the college had their own proprietary e-mailimg system, which I no longer have access to due to it being many years ago. So now my laptop that I've been using is old and slowing down and am a bit worried if I buy a new computer I wont be able to use my Adobe suite due to maybe having to use a new product key. Regrettably this pandemic isn't  helping either so if there is a way to transfer the software and be able to use it right away would be beneficial to me right now due to the lack of work in my area. Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure if you go and log in to your Adobe Account, Adobe ID, you should be able to get to your Serial Number/license/key under Plans & Products.  If you don't have the disks you can go to Download Adobe Creative Suite 6 applications and download them.
