It depends.
In the PS dialog for "New" you can select how many pixels you want per inch next to the word resolution. "5 wide" is vague. Are you referring to 5 pixels wide, 5 inches wide, 5 picas wide? What is the ppi (pixels per inch)?
Please clarify.

It depends.
Common choices for resolution might be 72 ppi (pixels per inch) or 150 ppi or 300 ppi. It can be set in File > New or Image > Image Size. Please tell us more about what you are trying to do or why you are asking so we can give a better answer.

If you mean the Default Photoshop Size, it's right there in the dialog. 300 pixels per inch.
That's an old resolution standard for printing to paper. If you produce for the web, use pixels.
