How to add another selection to the polygonal lasso tool

So I need to select like 10 different items using the polygonal lasso tool.  After I select each item I copy the item and paste it on a different canvas. 

Is there a way to make a selection, and then another series of different selections, and then copy them and paste them on another canvas?

So far I do it one by one because if I try to create another selection I automatically deselect my first item and I have to re-do it.

Hold the shift key to add and the alt/opt to subtract.
