And if you need to convert many images you could record an Action and apply it via File > Automate > Batch for example. 

Why do you need to convert the image, though? 

For use in a layout application the important thing would be that the profile is embedded.

You need Photoshop

Select Edit /  Convert to Profile and select Adobe RGB there
