Just so you know, Illustrator is the better app for creating logos. 

1. You have greater control. 

2. Illustrator gives you better graphic quality.

Unlike raster images in Photoshop which are pixel-based, vector graphics in Illustrator are math-based so they remain perfectly crisp and sharp at ALL sizes which is really important for print projects.
