So seems like there is consensus that tiff has full compatibility anf funcitonality of psd, psb and perhaps its better to use tiffs.
I run on the problem, that alpha is displayed by windows10 in thumbnails.What I'd like to see is downsized flattened RGB as a thumbnail. Exactly what you would expect.I have found on the internet screenshot of File handling preference section showing tickbox for saving thumbnails just below "Image Previews: Always Save".I don't have that tickbox in CC2019.What solution does Photoshop offer. What is common pipeline?Cheers,DS

Actually there is one noteworthy difference – psd can save files up to 2GB size, tif 4GB, psb larger ones still (I am not sure about the maximum possible size, though).

Why would you want to save tif? Have you compared filesizes and saving/opening times yet?
