How to modify white sun to its original red coulour

Hi there ! 

My picture has a white sun when its colour at the time it was taken was bright red... 

How can i modify this ? Needless to say that i'm a poor PS user but willing to learn 🙂

The reason it looks white is that it was too bright for the camera sensor. You can use a filter or manually color it in. Try looking up "luminosity mask" and use that with a red photo filter.

Don't make it red - it will look too dark compared to the rest of your image

You could give it a slight yellow tint using a masked Hue and Saturation adjustment layer set to colorize
