How to remove text from the foreground of a logo?

Hi folks. I have been asked to remove the text from the foreground of a logo but I'm having a lot of trouble. Does anyone know of any easy-ish ways to achieve this? I have attached the logo - looking to remove the "BALEENBANDIT". Thanks guys.

Do you have the logo-vector-data in a meaningful format (ai, pdf, eps, svg, …)?

I guess one Path can be used on several Shape layers with different Strokes can be combined with clipping maskes Sold Color Layers to emulate the gray gradients.
