I can't save my file in anything that's not PS or TIFF

Lately I'm unable to save my phtoshop files in anything that is not tiff or ps, and i don't know why. I already put the file in 8bits, mode rgb, but i can only save in tiff and i don't want to save in tiff. Do someone know what's the problem, what can i do to fix it? I need to hand in jobs and can't save it in the format that was asked.
