I need help to animate this photo ! :)

Hi guys, 

I need to animate the clouds in the background of this picture

I’m not a photoshop expert but I think this is a fairly simple thing to do!

I achieved a decent result isolating the hand, removing it from the background, and then trying to repair the background where I erased the hand, then using the timeline view to make the background drift to the left.

If I’m able to perfectly repair the background and perfectly isolate the hand, I think I would be set!

Any suggestions on how to do this? Or any simpler method? Thanks a lot!

You are taking the right steps but you might want to consider using masks

Make a duplicate of the image layer (Ctrl+J)

Make a selection of the hand and add a layer mask (Layer >Layer Mask >Reveal Selection). You can then adjust the selection by painting on the mask (white reveals , black hides)

Go to the original layer

Select around the hand area and use Edit > Fill  and set contents  to Content aware

Now you can go on to animate as required
