I want to save the image in jpg format using the save feature for the web. And I specified it as "action". However, no matter how much I try, I have to abandon the "action" and click each partition one by one to save the jpg file instead of the gif.

Otherwise, it will be saved as a gif unconditionally. I want to save jpg

Try not having save in your Actions and batch your actions with Image Processor and have it do the saving of the file in the folder you want the images save in with  the file name and size you want.  You can also download and install Image Processor Pro Plug-in it more flexible the Adobe image processor.
