images disappear or freeze

The images in files disiper and are not editable or savable when moving between different working files.

E.g. if you have 3 separate projects open ,one file will site in the place of all the others even if you try to move through them and you cant change it untill you close all windows and restart the program. 

This is making working on projects difficult FIX it please .

What have you done for trouble-shooting so far? 

Restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be a good starting point:
