Importing mp4 to jpg, need to display layers

I seem to have lost the display of the different layers after I've imported an mp4 to jpg. I can see Channels and the Path tab is there but layers is gone. Anybody tell me how to get them back.

A jpeg cannot contain layers. It is not supported in the file format specification.
