Hello, I am new to Ps and do not know how to import photo folders from my computer to Ps. All I see relates to Lr. Also, can watermarks be done in Lr or Ps only?  Thank you!

I can import one at a time, but cannot import entire folders of photos from my computer.

You can shift click and open several images in Photoshop, they'll come in as separate tabbed documents.

I do not have any photos in Ps right now. That's what I am trying to do but
not one at a time.
Thank you.

Hi KiMarie

Do you mean you want to open the files in Photoshop or something else? If you have folders with photos on your computer, you don't import those folders into Photoshop. You simply open the images that are in the folders as you need them.

Can you clarify your question?

Hello Jane,
Thank you for your response. I am trying to import all folders with images
from my commuter to Ps at once. It would take me forever to import
individually. I know when I had Elements, I was able to import all photos
from my laptop to Elements at once. I have approx 5,000 photos and do not
want to go back and forth importing one at a time.

Bridge (or Lightoom) would be a better tool for sorting images. Photoshop is the wrong tool for what you are attempting.

Hi Kim,

That's not how Photoshop works. The images will be on your computer and you will be able to see them in Finder (Mac) or File Explorer (Windows). On a Mac, the common place to put images is in the Pictures folder.

You can also view them through Adobe Bridge, which will display all files that are on your computer.

If the files are currently in an application that stores them in that application, then they will need to come out of there and simply be put on your hard drive (or external drive.) If they are already on your hard drive, you are done. Just open them as needed.

Where are the images now?

Photoshop CC is NOTHING like PS Elements.  And there's nothing to import because Photoshop CC does not have a database as PS Elements did.

Watermarking methods vary depending on which app you use and what type of watermark you need -- text, graphic or digital barcoding.  For the latter, there is a digital watermark plugin for Photoshop CC.

Hello Kimarie,

when I understand you correctly you want to open all your photo's. That is not how you use Photoshop. Photoshop is to work with one ore several pictures. To organise your Photo's you use Bridge or Lightroom.

I hope this helps you.
