Hello gang.

Just wondering: how can I install the latest version of Photoshop while keeping the last version installed as well?

I ask because I've had issues in the past where the new version is glitchy. I would like to have two versions installed just to be safe.

Thanks,

M

You can have two major versions installed (e.g. v20.x and v21.x)  but not two minor versions (e.g 21.1 and 21.2).

To install just go to the Creative Cloud desktop application - click on the three dots and choose "Other Versions"

To prevent uninstalling of a previous version of the app when you install a new version see the following link

Manan, your link is for CC 2015 and is five years old. I think the default now is that the older version (2019) is not uninstalled automatically. Adobe changed this setting for the very reasons stated by Marissa — the newest version is often buggy when it comes out. (My personal opinion is that not enough folks with varying types of computers and graphics cards sign up for beta.)

Hi jane-e, thanks for the sharing the information. I did note that the link i was sharing is old but i just wanted to highlight that such an option does exist that allows us to choose whether we want to keep the older version of the application or not. I was not aware that the new default value is changed to keeping the older version

When installing a new version Un-check remove old versions in the install options. You can always remove the ones  you do not want any time you want manually. Do not not use Adobe  un-installers they will mess up your current Photoshop install.... I have removed Photoshop CC, CC 2015, CC 2015.5 and CC 2017.  I may remove CC 2018 some time soon.  Adobe is making it harder to download old version of Photoshop.  So before you remove a version be sure you will not need to use it in the future for some feature that has been removed or changed in the newer versions you have installed. I currently have CS6, CC 2014, CC 2018, CC 2019 and PS 2020 installed.  Plus perpetual CS2 and CS3 installed.

You need to check the un-install installer option.  If Creative cloud has multiple update for you  and the are new versions involved and you select install all  Updated Adobe's default for all updates will be remove old versions. You need to remove the check mark in the install all update options.
