Seems it has to be under C drive based on adobe doc: Work with color profiles

But it's not a good idea when we need to share the icc profile with other artists. Is there a way to load that from servers and load it through java scripts or plugins?

Appreciate if someone can shed some light on this, thanks a lot 🙂

For Windows
Do you know what a symbolic link is?

Create a symbolic link to a folder with your icc profiles, located anywhere on the local network, in the folder
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Color\Profiles".

Profiles will become available. You don't even need to restart Photoshop.
For MAC I do not know if there is an analogue of symbolic links.

That is an awesome remark. Symlinks could indeed handle OP's issue.

Thank you for mentioning this. It'll be of use to me as well.
