Any item I have on the artboard will create a second version but wont create a new layer. It just stays there visible but unclickable or editable. The only solve I have found is turining off layers under it to get it to disappear.

Hi

Try this: uncheck "Legacy Compositing" in the Preferences > Performance, then restart Photoshop.
