Hello,

I made a white solid fill layer and am trying to mask it with the polygonal lasso tool. I make the selection, press delete, but nothing happends unless I invert it, which masks it. It use to just mask as soon as I deleted the selection. What is happening?

Yes, but why is the delete key not masking it in the first place? Even with the layer mask as the target, the delete key with the lasso should mask it. Thanks.

The delete key is the clear key  I do not know what  Photoshop would do if the target is a layer mask.
