Latest Photoshop 21.2.1 bugs

Open Photoshop, command+o to open a file, or File->Open and get this message:

"Could not complete the Open command because of a program error."

Earlier today, when opening a NEF file from Lightroom into Photoshop, the file opens, but the second time I do it, a progress bar appears and does not disappear. It remains on the screen until I quit Photoshop and restart it.

Why is Photoshop so buggy lately? What happened?

We're sorry about the trouble with Photoshop 21.2.1. Would you mind sharing the macOS version you are working on?

You can try toggling the option for Legacy Compositing ON/OFF by going to the Preferences for Photoshop, then Performance. Once done, quit and relaunch Photoshop to check if that helps. If the issue persists, you can try to reset the preferences of Photoshop using the steps mentioned here: https://adobe.ly/2Qzc0K3
