latest photoshop upgrade will not allow photos to be opened or transfered from lightroom

Latest upgrade of photoshop does not allow me to open a photograph in photoshop. Lightroom and camera raw still work correctly. I have reverted to the previous version but the problem persists and have once again upgraded to the latest version  but the problem remains. See screenshot of error message below.
