As title states. Before I ran into an issue with photoshop where my layer masks would get corrupted, weird patterns, etc. It happened again and I know why. Whenever I make an empty layer and attempt to create an applied image layer mask of a colour channel it ends up corrupting all the masks. Not just the file I am working on but all files open in photoshop...

LATEST

I occasionally get a layer mask corrupting when I'm using one to make a brightness/contrast vignette layer.

I first notice that its thumbnail in Bridge has dark blocks over it.  I have to open the image in PS and adjust the layer mask settings - then re-save.  It's happened in the past three iterations of PS, not just 2020.
