Layers invisible from PSD files

I just signed up for the trial to extract layers from old PSD files, only to find they either dont import or are flattened, or invisible. I only see the top layer. Extremely disappointed, dont know why this is happening.

You should have access to most all of Photoshop functionality.

Are you choosing File > Import or File > Open?

File > Open would be the recommended way to go.
