I am using iMac with Catalina V 10.15.7 up to date. Running Photoshop CC. I am unable o use the sliders in Lighting Effects filters. Tried reset of preferences etc. Still not working. Any suggestions please on how to fix the problem.

Can you try this:
Preferences > Technology Previews > Enable "Deactivate Native Canvas" > close and relaunch Photoshop.
