Liquify error "The operation cannot be completed."

I have version version 19.1.4 of Photoshop CC. My liquify tool suddenly stopped working . When attempting, I get an error that says "The operation cannot be completed." Does anyone have any insight on how to fix this? I have Windows 8.1 my laptop has 16 Gb RAM and a NVIDEA GT650M. Thanks you.

I had this problem suddenly this week in  Photoshop 2021 (22.3.1). The only thing that fixed the issue for me was uninstalling it and re-installing Photoshop 2020 (21.2.7).
