Hi all,

So I recently upgraded from an older version of Photoshop and I use the Liquify tool a lot.

The problem I'm having with the newest version is that instead of being able to "push" things where I want them, the second I click on an area with the Liquify tool, it starts to enlarge it (in a sphere shape). I have no control over which direction to liquify in. All I can do is control the size.

Sample image attached. If I click on the cat, it will just enlarge into a ball. I used to be able to squash it inwards, or stretch, etc.

What am I missing here? Thanks.

Did you accidentally select the Bloat Tool? Please post a meaningful screenshot that includes the Toolbar.

I had no idea there were tools on the left - apologies.

I found the tool I wanted (forward warp).

Thanks.

Hi there,

Sorry that your Photoshop Liquify tool is not working correctly as it enlarges the selected area even when you're not controlling it to do so.

Which version of Photoshop are you using and on which OS?

What have you done for trouble-shooting so far?

Restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be a good starting point:

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/basic-trouble-shooting-steps.html

If that does not help,  does turning off »Use Graphics Processor« in the Performance Preferences (Photoshop > Preferences > Performance > Graphic Processor Settings) and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue?

Thanks,

Akash
