MacBook Pro 16inch support – Graphic card not supported in Photoshop 2020?

I am struggling to get Photoshop CC2020 running on my MBPro 16inch from 2019!

Up to now the only way for keep it going is using version 21.2 - any newer version ends up with messages like "graphic card not supported", black screens and all GPU options disabled. I would expect a better support for these new devices!

Thanks for the info! Please try disabling the option for Automatic Graphics switching in macOS and try working on the Radeon card. You can check the steps here: https://osxdaily.com/2017/01/08/disable-gpu-switching-macbook-pro/

Hi,

We're sorry about the trouble with Photoshop. Would you mind telling us which macOS version are you working on? Which Graphics card do you have on the MacBook Pro? Have you tried updating Photoshop to the latest version (21.2.3) to check if the issue persists?

You can check: https://feedback.photoshop.com/conversations/photoshop/photoshop-212-not-detecting-older-gpus/5f5f46...

Regards,

Nikunj

Thanks Nikunj

Looks like the MBPro runs better now after having switched this option off – I have returned to 21.2.3 – no more black screens – and will go on testing.

On the MacPro I still have the hangers with zooming and panning around in large images. Then I have to force quit Photoshop.

This is the case in all versions after 21.2…?

How do you save back to an older version of Photoshop after updating?

LATEST

Turning off Automatic Graphics Switching is really not a permenent solution to this problem. Mine was working fine and just today stopped working. Same exact problem. Is this being worked out? I updated to the latest but the problem persists. I've also turned off the GPU, but again, not a permanent solve.
