Membership from Windows 10 to macbook

Hi, I recently subscribed and I stalled on windows 10 ASUS laptop. But I'm having troubles with it. Not photoshop but the laptop. I'm done with windows and want to switch to a macbook or tablet to run photoshop. I'm hoping for advice on what to get. I just have the photography plan and dont create huge files. What's the most cost effective way forward? Which Mac devices will be sufficient? Will a 3 or 4 year old macbook work? Thanks a ton to anyone that could help
