Merging images in Photoshop CS

Hi

I have taken multiple images of the same scene (from a drone) of a landscape including the ocean -  essentially the same photo except for minor drone movement and wave action. I would simply like to align the photos and then merge into a single photo. The result would be to blur and soften the wave action and ocean. Previously this could be done by selecting the photos in Lightroom and then selecting "Edit in/Open as layers in PS". A few steps in PS, using Layers, would then align, stack and merge the photos automatically.

That feature is not available in Lightroom CC (Adobe have confirmed this). After many attempts and lots of time I have failed to find an alternative method. I am a novice with PS and so any simple steps to achieve this would be appreciated.

I am using the current versions of CC and an iMac with Big Sur operating system
