Most menus greyed out

Almost all of the menus are greyed out and I cant undo (crl Z) The program is useless at the moment - worked fine yesterday. Tried to uninstall and reinstall, no luck....

Any suggestions?

Have you tried resetting the preferences? Look for the Reset Preferences On Quit button within the General tab of the Photoshop Preferences.
