Need Help for Photoshop

Hi, 

I was creating banners for my webiste recently. Everything was going smooth until Photoshop got stuck and then it got closed automatically. Does anyone know why it happened? I didn't have any idea that it will get crashed and I didn't save my work. 

Please help so that I can avoid getting into this issue.

What have you done for trouble-shooting so far? 

Restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be a good starting point:
