Most likely the camera raw plugin in cs2 is too old for any recent nefs from nikon, so you'll need to convert the nefs to dng copies using the adobe dng converter after which the dngs should open in photoshop cs2.

Adobe Digital Negative Converter

What camera are the nefs from?

What operating system are you using?

Any camera released after april 2007 is not supported. That's when CS3 was released and all updates for CS2 stopped.

If you use the free DNG converter you can open these DNGs in the Camera Raw 3.x plugin. Make sure to set the appropriate compatibility level.
